People are now aware of the benefits of staying physically fit and healthy thus the market for healthy living such as studios for Pilates, Yoga, and even Crossfit training are popping everywhere. Although there are dozens of workout to choose from, it seems that there are certain exercises that are more popular than the rest. So what’s hot in the world of fitness this 2015?
If you’ve been working out recently, you already know what HIIT is. For those who don’t know it yet, this stands for High Intensity Interval Training. Exercises that fall under this category include “Insanity”, “P90X”, and CrossFit. HIT works by pushing you to do a set of high intensity exercises for a set period of time before switching low intensity and back again.

According to Walter Thompson, Georgia State University’s professor of kinesiology and health, bodyweight exercises still remain the foundation of most exercises of today which is why it will be one of the top trends this year. All those pull-ups, push-ups, and sit-ups taught in school are making a comeback since they can be done anywhere and anytime.
Due to the popularity of HIIT, a lot of people tend to feel sore afterwards while some even suffer from injuries. This year, it appears that Recovery programs such as Self Myofascial Release and Restorative Yoga Classes are becoming more in demand particularly to those who are working out all the time. These recovery workouts are good for both warming up and cooling down.
Workout Videos. Thanks to the Internet and WiFi, everyone can stay fit by watching YouTube videos of exercises that they can do wherever they may be. There are some fitness online sites where you can choose workouts based on your experience or the areas that you want to strengthen or sculpt.
It appears that gadgets are turning out to be quite useful when it comes to fitness as they allow users to monitor their heart rate, amount of sweat, kilometres they’ve run, and so on. One of the best features of these devices is that they can sync with other applications too. Even smartphones have their own apps that will allow you to keep track of your health. For sure, there will be more applications related to health and fitness that will sprout in the coming years.
Shorter Workouts. Another trending fitness program for this year is the short workouts. This is not surprising given that most people have limited time to exercise. These short workouts usually span from 10 to 30 minutes and may be a combination of high intensity and low intensity training or simply high intensity depending on the program. It also appears that this kind of workout is ideal for many because they can push themselves to work harder for a short period of time instead of working out for hours in the gym.
